Blowineast:

The inception of Blowineast has been developed around the notion that on a micro scale from city to city across the world, ‘the east’ may often be seen to be the rougher, rawer and more cutting edge zones, whilst simultaneously being the hub of the creative energy and output of that given city. The western zone of those same cities, by comparison are perceived as the more affluent spaces where everything is presented & packaged in a more polished way.

In a similar analogy when one considers more macro perspectives, the western world is often referred to as the developed world whilst the east of the world is referred to as the developing world. Yet despite these labels and categorisations & our apparent developed nature, which would seem to suggest we in the west are advanced or ahead, when searching for deeper meaning & asking questions of our existence and purpose it is often the case we turn towards eastern philosophies & ideologies to provide us with the answers we seek & to gain perspectives of deeper meaning.

The Blowineast movement will seek to acknowledge the paradox of the inter-relationship that exists between the east & west through medium of the creative arts. Through this diverse genre, the aim is to both educate and inspire audiences through challenging preconceived notions and stereotypes that are often played out in mainstream media.

Recognising human interaction and its artistic natures the Blowineast platform is a recognition of the perpetual nature of human creativity beyond the psychological borders and boundaries society often places upon us. It is the aim of the Blowineast platform to educate and inspire through the creative arts. Bringing the best of the east of the world to the heart of the east end of London an area of arguably the capital of the world internationally renowned for its vibrant and artist energy, to celebrate and recognise when all is said and done, all people are all one.

Through the medium of the creative arts the purpose of the Blowineast platform is to challenge the stereotypical images of mainstream media around the notion of the construct of ‘the eastern world’ through bilateral ties to exposing and giving recognition to individual artistic impression.

Through acknowledgement of such expression it is the aim of the project to increase understanding and appreciation for such expression and encourage greater societal cohesion and inter-relationships.

In its most literal sense, to (re)connect the creative energy the may be found in both macro global and micro local, societal eastern & east-end perspectives of creative expression.
